Our mission

Quendon Dressage & Training Centre provides an atmosphere of enthusiasm and learning by creating a riding club for like-minded individuals with a will to progress.

Rides are organised so that there are never more than two horses working at a time, so that you can get the best from your riding experience. We teach riders to strive for advance levels of riding – no having to dodge others while you ride!

Heather on a horseI’ve taught for 37 years to competition level, and worked as the chief dressage trainer at Hippikos, a large training centre in north Portugal.

One of the reasons it taught me so much was that we used fabulous horses, trained up to Grand Prix, to teach relatively inexperienced riders to get the feel of the movements. We allowed them to do things they were unable to try on the horses in their local schools.

Many of them continued on to do great things. One girl I taught, who was a complete novice, is now on her countries’ young rider team. Everyone was motivated to really take their riding forward, whatever their level and ability.

I have horses capable of working all lateral work piaffe, passage, pirouettes and flying changes, up to one time. They are wonderful, kind teachers who can help you get the most from your dressage.

We intend to nurture your dedication and talent so that you can get the most out of our wonderful horses. Why not join us for an introductory session?

Riders should have a confident seat in walk, trot and canter. They should also have started to work the horse on to the contact.
